From 25 July 2021, CFG’s ultimate parent undertaking is Newton Investment and Development LLC, a company registered in Abu Dhabi and also wholly owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Born in 1970 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family and a businessman with global interests.

Sheikh Mansour completed his education in Abu Dhabi and the United States. His lifelong passion for sports has shaped his business interests; he has served as patron of the Al Jazira Football Club in Abu Dhabi for many years, and has been an accomplished horseman from a young age.

As the owner of the Abu Dhabi United Group, Sheikh Mansour oversaw the 2008 acquisition of Manchester City Football Club. Under his guidance, the club has dramatically evolved its operations and performance both on and off the field. The Club has won six English Premier League titles, six League Cups and two FA Cups.  It has also qualified for and competed in the Champions League every year since 2011. The Club has invested heavily in groundbreaking supporter, community and sports performance-related infrastructure and with the formation of the City Football Group, majority owned by Newton Investment and Development LLC, with a significant minority shareholding held by global technology firm Silver Lake (18.16%), 'City' interests now span multiple geographies and clubs.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour was a leading figure in the successful bid to host the FIFA Club World Cup in the UAE in both 2009 and 2010. Outside of football, he is Chairman of the Emirates Racing Authority, the internationally recognised governing body for horse racing in the UAE, and Patron of the Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour is the shareholder of the Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation which owns The National, Abu Dhabi’s English-language daily newspaper, and Sky News Arabia – a global Arabic-language news and current affairs channel.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed holds several official positions in the United Arab Emirates. He is Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Presidential Affairs and a member of the Supreme Petroleum Council. In 2017 he became Vice-Chairman of Mubadala Investment Company, one of the world’s largest state-owned investment funds.
