In September 2020, City Football Group announced that Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne (ESTAC) had become its tenth club.

Founded in 1986, ESTAC calls the 20,400 capacity Stade de l'Aube, home. The Club won the Intertoto Cup in 2001 and were Ligue 2 champions in 2014-15, finishing in fourth place, one point off promotion, when the 2019-20 season was suspended.

In September 2020, ESTAC integrated the City Football Group representing a new chapter for the club. A few months later, the team was Ligue 2 champion for the second time and was promoted to League 1. In the 2021/22 season, the team finished 15th  meaning they stayed in League 1 for the first time in 16 years.
